The course is delivered against ISO 14001:2026, in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021-1.
Unlike slide-driven training, this programme is activity-led: you learn by auditing a realistic case-study company (GreenTech Manufacturing) through a full audit lifecycle, supported by interactive Nearpod exercises and live coaching from experienced lead auditors.
Delegates who successfully complete this course (within the five years before applying to become a certificated auditor) satisfy the training requirement for initial certification as an IRCA EMS auditor.

EMS Fundamentals & the ISO 14001:2026 Framework
Management systems, PDCA, the purpose of an EMS and the structure of the 2026 standard.
Audit Principles, Roles, Impartiality & Initiation
ISO 19011 principles, audit types, impartiality and initiating the audit (IAF MD5).
Stage 1 Review & Audit Preparation
Reviewing documented information, risk-based planning, checklists and sampling.
Conducting the Stage 2 Audit
Opening meeting, gathering audit evidence, interviewing and site observation.
Audit Findings & Grading
Evaluating evidence and grading findings as Major, Minor or opportunity for improvement.
Nonconformities & Audit Reporting
Writing clear, defensible nonconformity reports and audit conclusions.
Closing, Follow-up & Corrective Action
The closing meeting, correction vs corrective action and evaluating responses.
Lead Auditor Skills, Audit Programme & Ethics
Leading the team, surveillance cycles and the CQI/IRCA code of conduct.
Activity-led, live and practical
The course runs live online via Zoom and is built around doing real audit work, not watching slides. Interactive Nearpod activities, group discussion and a continuous simulated audit keep you engaged from the first session to the last.

Continuous assessment through seven formative activities across the course, plus a final examination set by CQI/IRCA, sat online within 30 days of the course.
